We invest in and support child nutrition program access

Our Work

Since 2015, Hunger Impact Partners has been changing the trajectory of child hunger in Minnesota.

We have done this by improving access to healthy food for the nearly 500,000 at-risk Minnesota kids. Our programs are designed to broaden use of under-utilized federal child nutrition programs.

Armed with in-depth knowledge of child hunger, we collaborate with strong cross-sector partners and use our proprietary data analyses to keep improving our track record of closing the meal gap for hungry kids from birth to age 18.

Vision: Food for Every Child
Nutritious food for every food insecure Minnesota child

Mission
Change the trajectory of hunger-relief for Minnesota’s children so they can realize their full potential for social engagement, academic achievement, healthy lifestyle.

Guiding Principle:
Kids should only be hungry to learn.

Our collective goal is to provide 15 million new meals to hungry Minnesota children and generate $30 million in sustainable federal reimbursement revenue to local communities.

In conjunction with our research and evaluation partner EnSearch, Inc., we created a proprietary analytics tool drawn from data sources at the Minnesota departments of  Education and Health, and Human Services.

This Child Nutrition Index allows Hunger Impact Partners and its stakeholders to identify where there is severe need in Minnesota.

It is the combination of rich data, localized problem-solving, and proven meal delivery model implementation that sets our work apart.

We increase access to nutritious food for Minnesota children who are struggling with food insecurity.

We drive systemic and sustainable growth in targeted meal programs to reach all eligible kids.

OUR STRATEGIC INTENT

  • We use data to bring laser focus on high-impact, child nutrition strategies for school breakfast, after-school meals, infant and toddler nutrition programs, childcare settings, and summer feeding.
  • We support a strong network of statewide, community-based initiatives and partners. We track progress to refine, scale, and replicate successful tactics for all hungry children.
  • We synthesize the data and update our results quarterly.
